Menurut Tessa, kasus ini berkaitan dengan pengadaan bantuan sosial oleh Kementerian Sosial RI selama masa pandemi Covid-19 di wilayah Jabodetabek pada tahun 2020. Sebelumnya, Ivo Wongkaren telah dijatuhi hukuman oleh majelis hakim Pengadilan Tipikor Jakarta yang memutuskan pidana penjara selama 8 tahun 6 bulan dan denda Rp1 miliar dengan subsider 12 bulan kurungan.
